Pro Tools Training Students

I have been in radio for over 30 years and have used Pro Tools and Waves plug-ins for at least 10 years. Like a lot of radio producers I just started using the plug-ins by playing with them to see what they could do, and thought I was doing pretty good. Until I took the Waves Certification Program with Chris Bryant. Chris is an amazing teacher. I’m not a very technical person but he was able to teach me with terms I understood and analogies that made it easy to learn. The Waves Plug–ins are very powerful and I feel I now can use them properly to achieve the sound I’m looking for.

I found my ProTools course very beneficial to my job. The fast paced and hands on training environment made learning fun and easy to remember. Chris is incredibly knowledgeable of ProTools, answering all my questions and then some!

StudioSmart is a great resource for me. I had bought a new studio a few months ago and was at a complete loss. I decided it might just be too hard for me to learn. I was recommended to StudioSmart and Chris helped me get the studio up and running immediately. He is an excellent teacher in that he has the student work hands on all the while he is instructing. He reduces the complexity of recording into clear, learnable chunks. In addition he is encouraging, supportive and has a great sense of humor. I highly recommend him. I am now completing my first CD recording as an engineer and am loving it – if I can learn how to do this, anyone can.

I’ve had plenty of training for everything from bio-physics to Pro Tools and I wanted to mention what a great teacher Chris is. My Pro Tools 101 training was really a pleasant experience and I can’t wait for the next one. Really – well done.

I’ve worked with Chris for a number of years in the Pro Audio Industry and found his knowledge and enthusiasm inspiring. During my conversations with Chris, I always came away with some new piece of knowledge, or a new way to do something.

Having basically no recording experience going into my training with Chris, I was praying that I would be able to get a grasp of the basics quickly and affordably, so that I could get my music to sound the way I heard it in my head. His straight-forward and patient approach allowed me to learn at my own pace and focus in on what I really needed to know. As a result of Chris’ guidance, after only a few songs, I am now recording my own song writing demos which are getting attention from industry ears with no complaints (and even some praise) about the quality of the recording. Chris has made a big difference to how I use my studio. He knows what he’s doing and he demonstrates a commitment to addressing your specific needs. It’s not easy to find his combination of skills – he really knows how to make a difference. I highly recommend him!

I use Pro Tools as a hobby during the evenings and weekends. Because I have two young children and a full-time job, I don’t have a ton of time to learn all the Pro Tools basics by trial-and-error. Chris has been invaluable, by teaching me the fundamentals of ProTools, on a one-to-one basis, with speed and ease. Chris continually impressed me with his patience, integrity and thorough knowledge. Despite the huge difference in our knowledge and experience, I never felt stupid in my dealings with Chris. He is an excellent teacher, and is able to acknowledge strengths and suggest areas that require improvement in a manner that is empowering, rather than discouraging. I have just received the mastered version of my second CD, and I was thinking about how much I have learned in the past few years in doing this project myself.
