The Waves Certification Program is divided into six modules. You’ll start with Module One: an overview of the fundamentals of working with Waves plug-in processors. This will explain installation, authorization, types of plug-ins, and many other issues common to all Waves plug-ins.
In the next five modules you’ll be introduced to all of the major categories of Waves plug-ins. In these lessons you’ll not only learn the details
of specific plug-ins, but also the logic and language of different families of Waves processors.
This way, when you begin to use other similar Waves plug-ins, you won’t have to start from scratch.
Six Course Modules:
- Overview – details the fundamentals of working with Waves processors
- Renaissance EQ
- Renaissance Compressor
- C1 Parametric Compander
- Renaissance Reverb
- SuperTap 2-Tap Delay
Throughout the course, a series of directed demonstrations of each specific processor will show you how to solve mix problems using Waves processors. Each of these demos is accompanied by a short description of the decision making process used in choosing the processor and its use.
Once you’ve completed these six modules, examined the real world examples shown in the demos and you’ve had some time to experiment on your own with the tutorial material, you’ll have the opportunity to take the Waves Certification Program exam and receive your diploma. This short multiple-choice test, administered on-line, is designed to ensure that you have properly absorbed essential concepts of Waves plug-ins.
Those who do not achieve the minimum passing score will be allowed to take the test again at later date. But for the record, all of the people who’ve taken the course at StudioSmart have aced the exam.
